Ankle Foot Orthosis (AFO)
AFO stands for Ankle-foot-orthosis, which means a device that supports your ankle and foot, but in reality, they have the potential to support the entire body.
Nova Orthotics specialises in AFO's, the design will vary depending on your goals and needs. AFO's can assist with walking, weight bearing, independence and maintaining good alignment and range of motion at the ankle. Nova orthotics offers a wide range of new technology and products, including 3D scanning, 3D printed AFO and PDE AFO's.
Each client is involved in the design process and will get to pick their colour or pattern.

These orthotics are crafted to support your feet in all the right places, providing a perfect fit that supports your walking, stability and comfort.
Supra Malleolar Orthosis (SMO)

The Supra Malleolar Orthosis, often referred to as an SMO, offers stability to the ankle without impacting the foot moving up and down (plantar and dorsiflexion). It provides greater support than a foot orthosis and less support than an AFO. Each SMO is custom made to ensure ultimate comfort and function.

Supra Malleolar Orthosis (SMO)
